about the african methodist episcopal church (a.m.e.)
African - The church was organized by people of African descent and heritage. It does not mean that the church was founded in Africa, or that it was for persons of African descent only.
Methodist - The church’s roots are of the family of Methodist churches. Methodism provides an orderly system of rules and regulations and places emphasis on a plain and simple gospel.
Episcopal – The church operates under the episcopal form of government. It means that the church is governed by bishops. The chief executive and administrative officers of the African Methodist Episcopal denomination are the Bishops of the church.
How to become a member
We would love for you and your family to join Antioch. Though we gather weekly for worship, praise and fellowship, it is most important to ensure that all have the opportunity to find Christ. Following the preached Word (sermon), we extend an Invitation to Christian Discipleship. During this period, we encourage you to please come forward. If you seek prayer or consultation on your decision to join the church, you may contact our church office at 404-299-3388, or via email firstname.lastname@example.org Monday through Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
